What To Do If Ludex Returns the Wrong Card

Ludex is the most accurate card scanning app available, but occasionally a scan may return a close match rather than the exact card. This commonly happens when a player's image is used across multiple products - for example, a card may appear in both a standard Topps set and a Topps Chrome or Topps Sapphire edition, which can look visually similar to the scanner. Here is how to correct it.
Why Does This Happen?
Many card manufacturers release the same player image across several different products in the same year. When card designs share similar visual characteristics, the Ludex scanner may identify the correct player and set but return a close variant rather than your exact card. This is easy to fix using the Edit button.
Good to Know Before You Start
The scan result screen is a preview only - nothing is saved to your collection until you tap Add to Collection. This means you can freely edit and correct your card at this stage without any risk of adding the wrong card to your collection.
How to Correct a Wrong Card Scan
On the scan result page, tap the Edit button in the top right corner of the screen
You will be taken to the Search to Add Your Card screen. Search for your correct card using the following format for best results:
Year - Series Name - Player Name - Card Number
For example: 2025 Topps Chrome WWE Tavion Heights 68
Review the search results carefully - you may see several similar cards listed. Select the one that matches your exact card
Once you have selected the correct card, confirm the following:
Parallel - Ludex may suggest a parallel based on your scan. Review the suggestions and select the correct parallel for your card
Grader & Grade Value - select the grading company and grade if your card has been professionally graded
Tap Add to Collection to save the corrected card

Already Added the Wrong Card to Your Collection?
If you have already tapped Add to Collection and later realize the card details are incorrect, here is what you can and cannot change from the card detail page:
To correct the parallel: Tap the card in your collection, then tap the Parallel field to select the correct variant. This can be updated at any time.
To correct the source card entirely: The source card cannot be changed once it has been added to your collection. You will need to delete the card using the trash can icon and either re-scan or manually search for the correct card to add it again.
Tips for Finding the Right Card
Pay close attention to the series name in the search results - this is often where similar cards differ (e.g. Topps Chrome vs. Topps Chrome Sapphire)
If Ludex suggests a parallel, it is based on your original scan - review it carefully and adjust if needed
Including the card number in your search significantly narrows down the results
